Be Accountable
There is a way to be spiritually accountable with your finances as well as naturally. First let’s talk about the spiritual aspect of your finances. This means recognizing your money is not just currency but it is a stewardship.n
It says in Psalm 24:1, the earth is the Lords and everything in it. This means your income is a resource entrusted to you. Your home, savings and opportunities are stewardship assignments. You are a manager, not an owner.
Accountability begins with this mindset, God this is Yours and show me how to handle it. In Luke 16:10, Jesus taught us “whoever is faithfulnwith little is faithful with much. Spiritual accountability includes, tracking what you send, avoiding unneccessary debt, paying whay you owe, not living to impress others and being honest. Integrityin small financial decisions builds spiritual authority.
Given is a heart issue, the bible speaks about generosity, not to pressure but to reveal the heart.
Tithing (Malachi 3:10)
Cheerful Giving (2Corinthians 9:7)
Helping the poor ( Proverbs 19:17)
Proverbs 22:7 says the borrower is a servant to the lender. Spirit accountability means also to be disciplined, planning instead of reacting It means not to spend emotionally to fill emotional voids in your life. Money is a tool and not a healer, not an identiy, and not a savior.
Practical Spiritual financial decisions:
Pray before making major financial decisions.
Create a written plan (Habakkuk 2:2 principle write the vision).
Give consistently.
Save intentionally.
Seek wise counsel when unsure.
Review your spending regularly.
When you’re accountable you are to educate yourself about your personal finance such as investing, retirement planning and tax strategies. You should also seek out financial advisors or resourses specifically tailored to a woman’s financial need, such as guidance, managing for caregiver responsibilities. It is more important to note that financial accountability is not just about individual responsibility, but also systematic barriers in leadership capacities. Creatin a more equiable and inclusive society that supports women’s financial empowerment is crucial.
Know your Value and Worth
It is important for everyone, regardless of age, to believe in their own value. Believing in oneself can lead to increase self-esteem, confidence and a more positive outlook on life.
Genesis 1:27 “We were created in the image of God.”
Your value and worth is not about your ego it is about seeing yourself the way God sees you.
Your worth is not based on your past, your mistakes, your income, your relationship status or what people say about you. You have to know your life has purpose and value. One of the clearest pictures of your worth is the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
In Romans 5:8 “ God demonstrated His love in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”'', meaning you were worth saving even in your broken state. The cross says you are worth pursuit, youare worth sacrifice and you are deeply loved.
1 Peter 2:9 “ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…”, for you are called and chosen. You are not accidental, disposable, forgotten or replaceable.
When you know your value you don’t tolerate what dishonors the God in you. You don’t confuse attention with love. Your worth is not shrinking or striving, it is rooted in belonging to God.
Women are to cultivate a strong sense of self-worth and recognize their own unique strengths and talents. This can help them navigate the challenges they may face in their personal and professional lives and empower them to pursue their goals and dreams. Mentors and acountability partners are role models which can play a crucial role in helping women develop a positive self-image and belief in their own value. Encouraging them to try new things, providing positive feedback and recognition for their achievements, and helping them develop a growth mindset can all contribute to building their confidence and self-worth.
Use Your Voice
It is important for women to use their voice when they have experienced abuse because speaking out about their experiences can help to raise awareness about the issue and encourage others to speak out as well.
God uses ordinary peoples voices to accomplish extraordinary things. It is your voice which carries truth, encouragement, correction, worship and testimonials. Your voice is given by God and empowered by God and it is to glorify God. The enemy often tries to silent women through shame, trauma, comparison, rejection and church hurt. When you are anchored you will not agree with fear, you will not shrink to make others comfortable and you will speak what God has place in you.
Using your voice means to speak truth in love, to speak up against injustice, sharing your estimony and setting healthy boundaries. It says in Proverbs 18:21 “life and death is in the power of the tongue”, meaning your voice creates the atmosphere. When you use your God-given voice it may look like praying out loud even when your voice shakes. It mean saying NO when something violates your peace. You should pamper yourself, treat yourself to a luxurious spa day, a massage or a manicure and pedicure.
Engage in hobbies that bring you joy such as cooking, writing, dancing or etc.
